About
Hi, I’m Natan. I’m a painter based in Baltimore, and my work bridges the hand and the machine. Most of my imagery comes from textiles—motifs, grids, and patterns that I collect and rework. I’m drawn to the parts that are often overlooked, and I bring those details forward as the basis for my compositions.
I use these sources to create digital compositions that are later translated into paint with the help of CNC machines. The results are layered, imperfect, and textured—more like weaving or needlepoint than a purely mechanical process.
I’m interested in how images change as they move between different systems—print, digital, and paint—and how each stage leaves its own mark.
Process
My process starts with my collection of imagery—mostly textile patterns and other printed symbols. I scan, edit, and recombine them into digital collages, shifting scale and color until they form a structure I want to paint.
I use CNC machines, laser cutters, and pen plotters to translate these files onto canvas. The machines move line by line, stroke by stroke, but I guide the process and keep the irregularities that appear along the way. Those slips and shifts are part of the final work.
I’m interested in what happens when an image passes through different systems—moving from print to digital to paint—and how each step changes it.

Work
2009 to Present - Bike Powered Events LLC, Founder CEO
I run Bike Powered Events, a company I started in 2009 that creates pedal-powered activations for workplaces, conferences, and public spaces. What began as blending smoothies on a stationary bike at a farmers market has grown into a business that now produces interactive, pedal-powered experiences for events nationwide.
